When I got pregnant with my first child, we were living in a very small two bedroom apartment in a bad neighborhood. Of course, being pregnant and hormonal, I would cry every night, saying, "Where are we going to put the crib? In the middle of the kitchen floor?!"
Haha! I knew immediately we would have to move. This was October and we started looking right away. We found a real estate agent that we really liked and started viewing houses around town. We also started applying for home loans and kept getting turned down, mainly because we were poor college students.
We realized after a few months that we were looking at houses that were out of our price range. After trying to get a loan from four banks, we did some research and found a bank in town that offered government assistance with buying a home.
As we were waiting for the results to come back, we found a beautiful mobile home in a great rural area of town. We were in love! I knew it would be perfect for our baby.
It was now February and we made an offer on the house. The loan with our bank was finally approved, but with all the paperwork, we weren't able to move in until April 1st. My son was born just a couple of months later!
The home has been perfect for us and we are so appreciative of the bank and real estate agent who did everything they could to move us in!
