Seven years ago, my husband and I were moving from New Hampshire to Ohio, and had very little time to find a place to live. Being newlyweds, we didn't have much money and had only three days to find a new place to live.
We flew from Boston on a Monday, and by Tuesday we had met the real estate agent we spoke to over the phone face to face. At first we were concerned because all the homes she had printed out from the MLS listing were large, and definite fixer uppers.
The process looked as if it were going to go longer than we had hoped...but at the end of the sheet of behemoth houses, there it was! A sweet, little cottage! The home was for sale by owner, and we were able to meet the couple that was selling it. We started the paperwork on our offer that night.
We flew back to Boston the following day, with the knowledge we had a home to go to.
