What Utah First Time Home Buyers Should KnowI'm sure you already know that a first time buyer is one who never owned a home before. But actually, that also applies to those who haven't owned a home in more than three years. That means, you could qualify as a first time home buyer even though you owned a home in the past.Perhaps you moved to a new area and decided to rent before purchasing. In some states they require residency of one year to avoid certain taxes. So a person could choose to rent for a period of time. Or they have not found something they really want to buy yet. Just be sure that it has been more than three years before you consider yourself a first time home buyer. There are some exceptions to this rule. There are some programs in this state that doesn't require the first time home buyer rule. Also there are some areas in the state where it doesn't matter if you are a first time house buyer or not.
